Hostage International

Established in 2004, Hostage International provides independent, confidential, and open-ended support to individuals and families affected by a hostage crisis. The charity ensures that families and – once they are released – former hostages receive dedicated personal support and help with practical issues and it facilitates access to pro bono legal, financial, medical and mental health services. A leader in its field, Hostage International delivers training to organisations, government departments and NGOs, around best practice in family support and hostage reintegration. It encourages governments and employers to adopt policies and practices which take into account the family and former hostage perspective.
