National Trust (Runnymede)

The open landscape beside the Thames at Runnymede in Surrey, the probable site of King John’s sealing of Magna Carta in 1215, has been managed by the National Trust since 1931. SRT’s grant to Runnymede supported a new public artwork by Mark Wallinger, celebrating Magna Carta and encouraging visitors to consider its relevance today. The artwork was opened to the public in June 2018.
