Center for Court Innovation

The Center for Court Innovation Arts Strategies department is charged with determining how the arts and arts institutions can play an effective role in the legal system and activate the artistic community to assist with preventing violence, creating justice, and fostering opportunities for equity, healing, and decarceration. This grant grew out of support to projects of the Center for Court Innovation, including Neighbors in Action, a community organisation in Crown Heights and the Red Hook Arts Project. Arts Strategies for the Center for Court Innovation work in two ways: firstly on a neighbourhood level, continuing to collaborate with the Red Hook Community art project and other projects of the Center for Court Innovation, delivering resident-led arts programmes, and secondly on an institutional level, building partnerships between points in the justice system and arts organisations in New York City.
