New North London Synagogue

The New North London Synagogue’s Destitute Asylum Seekers project was launched by volunteers in March 2006, and now operates a drop-in centre on the first Sunday of every month. It focuses exclusively on asylum seekers whose claims have failed, and who are therefore destitute. Volunteers offer legal advice, medical treatment and counselling, a cooked meal, and vouchers for groceries and travel, for more than 1,000 destitute asylum seekers on their books from 30 different countries.
