Numun Fund

Numun Fund was founded in June 2020 as the first dedicated fund focused on resourcing and sustaining feminist technology movements. It provides resources to informal groups, organisations and networks who use technology to advance women’s rights and gender equality. Its focus regions are Asia, Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, Middle East and Arab countries, Eastern Europe, and the Pacific. As well as funding, Numun strengthens the capacity of groups and creates spaces for feminist activists to share and learn together. In its first round of grants, Numun is supporting 43 groups working on a range of issues including tackling online gender-based violence; digital security; equal access to technology; women’s freedom of expression online; data control and tech ownership; and using technology to share information on women’s rights.
