Rise Up Against Gender Based Violence

Rise Up Against Gender Based Violence was formed to combat gender based violence in South Africa and the world as a whole. It focusses on groups most vulnerable to Gender Based Violence in South Africa including women who live on the street, and particularly adolescent women and men.

The Sigrid Rausing Trust awarded them an Emergency Grant in 2021 in response to a wave of civil unrest which occurred in South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng provinces from 9 to 18 July 2021, sparked by the imprisonment of former President Jacob Zuma.
