Samir Kassir Foundation

The Samir Kassir Foundation is a non-profit organisation established in 2006 by friends and family of a prominent Lebanese journalist and writer, Samir Kassir, in response to his assassination by a car bomb in 2005. The Foundation aims at spreading democratic culture in Lebanon and the Arab world, encouraging new journalistic talents, and building a movement of cultural, democratic, and secular renewal. It hosts the SKeyes Center for Media and Cultural Freedom, one of the largest freedom of expression defence and advocacy organisations covering Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Palestine.
