Social Justice Coalition

Founded in 2008, the Social Justice Coalition (SJC) is a grassroots social movement made up of over 1,500 members across 11 branches throughout Khayelitsha, Cape Town. It campaigns to advanced the constitutional rights to life, dignity, equality, freedom and safety for all people, but especially those living in informal settlements across South Africa. The SJC has adopted two primary campaigns to ensure safe, healthy and dignified communities – the Clean and Safe Sanitation Campaign and the Justice for All Campaign.
