US Office on Colombia

The U.S. Office on Colombia (USOC) was established in 1998 in response to human rights violations in Colombia, and the desire of many Colombian organisations to have an advocate in Washington that could represent the needs and interests of the Colombian human rights community in pushing for changes to US foreign policy. The Trust supported a project concerning policy on human rights defenders and aimed at pressuring the Colombian government to provide better protection for human rights defenders and reduce impunity for acts perpetrated against them.
