Victor Jara Foundation

Victor Jara, a Chilean teacher, distinguished theatre director, poet, singer-songwriter, and political activist, was a supporter of President Salvador Allende and one of the first victims of General Augusto Pinochet’s regime. Established by Jara’s widow, the Foundation’s work centres on an archive containing documentation about Victor’s life and work and about the human rights and solidarity movement in support of Chile. The Trust supported the digitalisation of the archive.
