Young Roots

Founded in 2004, Young Roots supports young refugees and asylum seekers aged 11-25, in London, to improve their wellbeing and fulfil their potential. The charity’s Casework service offers one-to-one support and advocacy to young people to resolve pressing issues and navigate the complex UK systems. Young Roots also runs weekly youth clubs and Advice & Support Hubs in Brent and Croydon, which integrate sports and social activities with English language learning and specialist therapeutic and legal advice. Through their Youth Welfare project in Wembley, North Croydon and King’s Cross, the charity works with young people aged 18-25 living in contingency accommodation, who are at increased risk of social isolation, supporting them to access essential services and information. Young Roots strongly values youth participation and leadership, and takes a strengths-based approach to their work with young people.
