GroundUp

GroundUp is a South African not-for-profit news agency, founded in 2012 by Nathan Geffen to address a gap in the media landscape when it came to reporting on citizen protests and the work of civil society activists. The group amplifies the voices of activists and vulnerable communities by reporting on their struggles for human rights. Their content is published under a creative commons and is regularly reprinted and featured in other South African news publications such as the Daily Maverick and News24.
