Association for Progressive Communications

Founded in 1990, the Association for Progressive Communications (APC) is an organisation and global membership network that seeks to empower and support organisations, social movements and individuals through the use of information and communication technologies to bring about social justice and participatory political processes. Established in 1993, the organisation’s Women’s Rights Programme builds the capacity of women’s rights organisations and movements to use the internet strategically and safely in their work; helps them to identify, monitor, analyse and combat uses of the internet that are harmful to women and marginalised communities; and facilitates their participation in and influence on internet policy and governance discussions.
