Equal Community Foundation

The Equal Community Foundation (ECF) is an India-based charity that works with adolescent boys and young men in order to change their attitudes to women, and thereby reduce discrimination and gender-based violence. Through the ECF’s Action for Equality programme, the boys are encouraged to study the role of women in society and in their own lives. Curriculum subjects include gender roles, sexuality, sexual health, violence and patriarchy, and the boys are also taught practical skills such as conflict management, debating and financial planning.
