Forbidden Stories
Forbidden Stories was founded in 2017 with a mission to pursue and publish the unfinished stories of journalists who have been killed or imprisoned. They operate as a network of investigative journalists with a range of skills and expertise, regional and thematic, with connections to publications including the Washington Post, Le Monde, El País, The Guardian, Die Zeit, Haaretz and other smaller local and digital platforms.
They also operate a secure platform called the SafeBox network which acts as a repository for ongoing investigations by journalists working in severely restricted or challenging environments. Their ambition is to be able to respond quickly and effectively to world events and continue to reach a large audience to amplify the stories others wish to repress.
