Maternal Mental Health Alliance

Founded in 2011, the Maternal Mental Health Alliance (MMHA) is a UK coalition of 130 national organisations and 25 local community groups. The aim of the MMHA is to ensure that women, birthing people, parents and families affected by perinatal mental health problems have access to high-quality, compassionate care. MMHA campaigns nationally and locally to ensure equitable access to perinatal mental health services, advocates directly to government for improved investment, undertakes specialist research to map existing provisions highlighting shortcomings and works with corporations to improve employee support. MMHA also raises public awareness of perinatal mental health, aiming to reduce persistent stigma, and provides clinically assured, trusted information on how to spot common symptoms and find the right support.
