Media Policy Institute

Founded in 2001, the Bishkek-based Media Policy Institute (the Institute) is the principal group monitoring and defending media freedom and free expression more widely in Kyrgyzstan. It stands out for its expertise in media law, which it has used to advocate for reforms, raise awareness of the situation internationally and increasingly to defend media workers and outlets in court.
