Melissa Network

Melissa – meaning “honeybee” in Greek – was founded in 2014 with the direct involvement of migrant and refugee women leaders. Based in Athens, it provides refugee and migrant women and children with a network of support, promoting advocacy, empowerment and active citizenship. It further aims to create and sustain bonds between the ethnic communities, and to build a bridge of communication with the host society. Melissa has members from more than 45 countries and operates as a common platform, a hub where networks and individuals can meet, share their concerns and ideas, and support each other in the pursuit of their common goals.
