Notre Grand Bleu

Notre Grand Bleu (‘Our Big Blue,’ NGB) was established in 2012 by a group of local Tunisian scuba divers, spear-fishers and researchers concerned about ecosystem degradation in and around Monastir Bay. Using a science-based approach, the NGO works to ensure sustainable solutions for nature and people in Tunisia’s marine and coastal ecosystems. NGB’s main activities include biodiversity research and monitoring; protected area designation and management; and advocacy for law and policy change. The NGO is particularly well known for its field training and community engagement activities with small-scale coastal fishers and Tunisian youth.
