The Media and Law Studies Association (MLSA)

The Media and Law Studies Association (MLSA) is a Turkish non-profit founded in late 2017 to respond to an urgent yet growing need for going back to democracy and normalization in Turkey. The organisation provides legal defence to journalists, activists and academics. It has taken sensitive cases involving gross human rights violations outside of Istanbul to the European Court of Human Rights. MLSA also hire unemployed journalists to monitor trials and run an anti-impunity project for unsolved murders of journalists and activists.
