United Stateless (USL)
United Stateless (USL) was founded in 2018 by US-based stateless people, who connected through social media. Together, they build community, advocate for their human rights and for changes in law and policy. They envision a world where everyone’s human right to nationality is upheld, and no-one is deprived of nationality based on their race, ethnicity, sex, gender, or religion – as stated in Article 15 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Their mission is for the US Government to adopt the international definition of statelessness, and pass legislation (Stateless Protection Act) that creates a pathway to citizenship for those recognised as stateless.
